This One

I rearranged all the facts to suit my morning
But thought better of that far too late
It came down to the same old question of preferences and
Where are you gonna find another boy so tame?

I reach back and guess at where we started
& write down the last thing that you said
Guess I'm gonna need a bigger envelope
This one won't seal over such regret

And the truth the time has lent
Miles off from what I meant
How many stamps will guarantee
That you take it in the spirit it's sent?

Suzanne are you grieving?
Do you lack the strength for leaving?
Are you still cursed with belief that everything has a meaning?

Are you grieving Suzanne?
I think we've done the bet we can
Although I know I could have been a better man
But after all this time you understand

I invented the facts to suit the paper
No second thoughts his time around
This one more pensive, but less honest
But still so wrong I wonder how

You ever thought I'd do
Was it just because I loved you?
But how much love secures a guarantee
That you're not gonna go?

Suzanne are you grieving?
Do you lack the strength for leaving?
Are you still cursed with belief that everything has a meaning?

Are you grieving Suzanne,
Because from what I understand
I know you'll love me if you can
But after all this time I know you can't

I like this one. I really really like this one. I could hear the rhythm and could imagine the music somehow ( though I'm sure it's nothing like the reality). And I think you excellently get your thoughts and feelings across without coming across as maudlin ( as so many do these days).

Did I mention that I really really like this one?

I wish you'd send me your melody and arrangement as I'm not yet sure how I feel about this one at all.

Wow well I hadn't really figured it all out it was just a melody in my head, PLUS DANG, it's not good enough for your stuff. :P

humility doesn't get this fucking song out. I would be curious, though.

This One might be my favorite so far in looking just straight at the lyrics. Really like way you put the questions and thoughts together with the paper/envelope/stamps idea of a 'letter'. Hope you work out the melody and make this one sing.
